REVERSE APPLIQUE is method that has been handed down from ancient times in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Traditional hand embroidery in which the upper fabric is hollowed out and cutwork, then sewn so that the lower fabric can be seen, and motifs such as flowers and geometric patterns are drawn. By using organza material for the lower fabric, a three-dimensional effect is created.
Every facet of this work is done by hand and each garment is unique.
Features a wide elastic waist that can be adjusted with the tassels and lining that is 10cm shorter than the outer fabric, so the sheer applique is accented.
The skirt has moderate volume which falls from the gathers at the waist into a beautiful silhouette that spreads softly and highlights the texture and detail of the reverse applique.
